Dr. and Mrs. Mayo
were married
June 6, 1953. They have four married children and twelve grandchildren. They were saved in a revival meeting conducted by the Branch Hill Baptist Church, Branch Hill Ohio. The revival was held in a tent borrowed from the Landmark Baptist Temple, of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Mayo served as pastor of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, Elliston Kentucky and the Maineville Baptist Church of Maineville, Ohio before surrendering to fulltime mission work. He and his wife and family (until each of the children were required to return to the USA for school) have served as missionaries since 1968. Two of the children are serving on the mission field.
The mission ministry of Dr. and Mrs. Mayo has been church planting. The ministry of church planting has also necessitated the establishment of Bible Institutes in order that leaders might be trained to lead the churches. The fields of service for these ministries have been; Indonesia, New Zealand, Hawaii and Singapore. All of the churches established under the ministry of Dr. Mayo are now under the leadership of men trained in one of the schools established under his ministry. The churches are autonomous and indigenous.
Dr. Mayo has a B.A. with a Bible major and a Greek minor from Cedarville College, Cedarville, Ohio; a Th. M. from Luther Rice Seminary, Jacksonville, Florida; and a Ph. D. from Baptist Christian University, Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Mayo comes with the recommendation of a wide range of pastors.
